Innovation Parkway in the City of Georgetown, Indiana, is a recipient of an American Council of Engineering (ACEC) 2025 Engineering Excellence Merit Award! This project provides smooth access to the NovaParke Technology Center, a boom for the County’s development. The team created innovative solutions to address connectivity and provide utilities for future park expansion while working within exceedingly limited space between highway and railroad right of ways and sensitive environmental features. Beginning with a new signal at State Road 64 and the newly relocated Oakes Way, the parkway provides a new bridge over Norfolk Southern Railway and Georgetown Creek, providing for uninterrupted emergency services. The road preserves the rural character of the area and utilizes in-line stormwater detention with debris separators to mitigate runoff. Water and sanitary sewer are extended from facilities along SR 64 and cross under the railroad and Georgetown Creek.
