Rehabilitation of the Church Street 300,000-gallon elevated water storage tank consisted of removal and replacement of the existing interior and exterior coating systems. The existing exterior coating system contained more than 1 percent total lead, requiring lead abatement.

We also performed miscellaneous structural repairs, including the replacement of all the exterior and interior ladders, overflow weir box, roof vent, and riser manway. The double obstruction light and all its conduit and wires were also replaced. The elevated storage tank is located within 500 feet of public areas and residences; therefore, control of emissions from sandblasting was required. This project was funded through the Texas Community Development Block Grant (TxCDGB) program.
