Building and Facilities –
Industrial
View our
Industrial Projects Industry
often has unique engineering needs and project completion
schedules and budgets that demand a focused staff of
experts. Accordingly, we have a group that focuses on manufacturing infrastructure, including buildings/facilities, plant utilities, process utilities,
and electrical, civil/site, and environmental engineering services. Our engineers are experienced at all phases of a project, from master
planning/programming to detailed final design, construction
observation, and start-up support.
Our specialties include food processing and food distribution facility engineering, although our engineers have completed facilities
and plant utilities system engineering for a wide variety of manufacturing clients. Our clients include leading companies in the processing
of meat, seafood, cheese, bakery, dairy, vegetables, beverages, and pet foods.

Buildings and Facilities
We have performed millions of dollars of building/facilities design work, including structural investigation and design services for foundations,
buildings, equipment supports, ADA requirements, mezzanines, and truck docks. Our experience ranges from single and multistory buildings
to large process/production-related projects. These projects
have involved the use of a wide variety of materials including steel, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, timber, and masonry.

Plant Utilities
We provide full-service HVAC engineering and consultation services and have completed dehumidification projects for a number of facilities
throughout the upper Midwest. Our engineers have the expertise to design water supply and distribution, sanitary and storm sewer, ammonia
refrigeration, boiler and steam, industrial ventilation and dust control, compressed air, HVAC, clean-up, fire protection,
and plumbing systems for all types of buildings and applications, ranging from light commercial to industrial, including specialty occupancy
areas, such as laboratories and chemical storage facilities.
Process Utilities
One of our major strengths is process heating and cooling and clean-in-place systems. Within this field, expertise is provided in all
aspects of process equipment selection, process piping and conveyance
design for a variety of liquids and slurries, and site-specific industrial
water supply and waste treatment systems design. Engineers in this
area have vast experience in all aspects of design including hydraulics,
material selection, sizing, layout, and development of budgetary construction cost opinions. Our engineers have designed processes and
process piping in support of a wide array of systems as small as a 1-gallon-per-day chemical metering system to as large as a 120-million-gallons-per-day
peak flow waste treatment facility. |

Environmental
Our staff is experienced in providing engineering services for regulatory compliance issues, environmental site
assessments, and facility permits. These services have
involved plan preparation, design, and construction/start-up
of water treatment, wastewater pretreatment and full treatment, odor control,
and air pollution control facilities. In addition, we have all the insurance coverages
and personnel certifications required by federal, state, and local agencies to perform
contaminated site assessments, remediations, and cleanups/closures.
